How will I know what size air conditioner I should get?

Every building is different, and choosing the right air conditioner depends on a variety of factors, including:

  • room sizes
  • room orientation
  • window sizes
  • door sizes
  • ceiling insulation, and
  • even whether or not you have external weather protection such as roller shutters or blinds.

That’s why it’s best to have an air conditioning specialist find the right air conditioner for your home or business. You want a system that cools or heats your home efficiently… and we believe we can help you with that.

Ducted Air Conditioning Systems

Ducted air conditioning systems provide discreet air conditioned comfort throughout your entire home. It can be installed in a new home or tailored to suit an existing one, and once installed, only the controller, and suction and discharge grilles are visible inside your home.

Ducted Air Conditioning SystemsA ducted air conditioner consists of an indoor and outdoor unit and flexible ducting. The indoor unit is concealed out of sight in your ceiling, with flexible ducting distributing conditioned air through vents located throughout your home. An outdoor unit is positioned in a discreet location outside your home.

Ducted air conditioning gives you the flexibility to heat or cool every room in your home. Your home can be ‘zoned’ to maximise energy efficiency and customise your air conditioner’s operation to suit your lifestyle – and how you ‘zone’ your home is completely up to you. For example, you may want the bedrooms in zone one, the living areas in zone two and so on. The position of discharge grilles can also be tailored to suit the shape of each room, for optimum air circulation.

Using a ducted air conditioner is an aesthetically pleasing option because there is no indoor units sitting on the wall, just supply and return air grilles in the ceiling or walls encompassing different styles, and colours to match your home interior.

We can also help you with Split Systems.

Split System Air Conditioners

Split Systems are a great option if you wish to air condition one room or a single area of your home or building.

Split system air conditioners have an outdoor condenser connected to an indoor fan coil unit by small copper pipes and wiring. The indoor unit is either wall mounted or, in the case of cassettes, is ceiling mounted.

Split Air Conditioning SystemEach has electronic controls and a fan that circulates either warm or cool air. Split systems are ideal for those wanting to air condition one room or single area of their home.

Split systems work by transfering hot and cold air from one place to another. The outside unit (compressor) pressurises refrigerant gas which acts like a sponge when super heated under pressure. It absorbs any hot air inside and transfers it outside whilst also absorbing cool air from outside and transfering it inside.

Every house is unique and so is how you use each room. So, naturally, you want an air conditioning system that suits your home and family. At The Weather Wizard, we can help take the guess work out of choosing the perfect system for your individual taste and environment.

The Weather Wizard can also offer you Ducted Air Conditioning Systems.
